Our aim with the Publicritic Call for Posters and GIFs, Exhibition and Events, is to encourage artists around the world to form a visual critique on various problems in society each year. What motivates us is to raise people's awareness, and make them think about current issues, create an experience for connection – in the streets or on the web – to broaden the communities’ vision. Each year, we exhibit the selected entries in Oradea's urban spaces during the St. Ladislaus Days, as well as on Publicritic’s online platforms and catalogue.
Taking advantage of today's technological innovations, there are many ways to creatively make our series of events and showcase entries more interesting. We use the Artivive app to make it possible to play selected GIFs on your phone, even if they are still images in the physical space or catalogue.
The jury of Publicritic consists of renowned graphic designers, visual artists and animation artists. Works selected by them will be displayed in the form of city-light posters, if possible, and the winning works will be displayed in the form of billboards on the streets of Oradea.
These works will be included in our printed Publicritic Catalogue, and published on our website and social media platforms as well.
Judging takes place in two separate categories: posters and GIFs.
To enter the competition, click on the SUBMIT A CRITIQUE button found on the home page. This opens a Google Forms interface, where you can enter your personal details, then upload the works you want to submit and enter the details in the fields provided. If your entry is successful, you will receive a confirmation message and an email.
Submissions must be 5x3 scale, 300 DPI resolution, PDF extension, RGB file. Digital files must not exceed 100 MB in size. All posters must be inserted in the template you can download HERE.
Aspect Ratio: 5:3
Pixel dimensions: 1200 x 720 px
Maximum file size: 10 MB
Total number of frames (recommended) : 2-100
File extension: GIF
For GIFs, it is mandatory to include a high-quality cover image with each work, so that they can be printed as posters and in the catalogue.
The covers must be 5x3 scale, 300 DPI resolution, PDF extension, RGB file. Digital files must not exceed 100 MB in size. All posters must be inserted in the template you can download HERE.
We recommend Vector-based entries, given that the selected entries will be displayed as billboards on the streets of Oradea.
The award ceremony will be organised in Oradea, during the Saint Ladislaus Days at the end of June. More information will be posted on our website and social media pages.
